Curriculum and Course Competencies

Curriculum and Course Competencies

Instructors use the same curriculum and competencies for dually enrolled high school students as that of students instructed on Paradise Valley Community College's (PVCC) campus. The same standards and guidelines apply as established by the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) and PVCC. Textbooks must be college-level and approved by PVCC Division Chairs.

Which courses can be offered for DE credit?

Courses listed in the MCCCD-Dual Enrollment Course Catalog may be offered for dual enrollment credit. This catalog is updated annually. Courses are added to and removed from the catalog based on MCCCD Instructional Council interest and course transferability. A course match is required to offer the college course for DE credit. Course matches may be completed by comparing MCCCD course descriptions and competencies to the high school class description, standards, and/or syllabus.
