Black Mountain
Paradise Valley Community College at Black Mountain is nestled in the heart of the desert on more than 80 acres in North Scottsdale. Easily accessible off the Carefree Highway between 56th Street and 60th Street, PVCC’s satellite campus draws students from surrounding suburbs including North Phoenix, Carefree, Cave Creek and North Scottsdale, and serves a multifaceted role for the local community.
The Black Mountain campus opened in 2009 as a partnership with the Valley of the Sun YMCA and the Holland Center. Today, the shared education, community and fitness complex has become a hub for northern residents and currently offers a wide-variety of classes to fulfill both certificate programs and two-year associate degrees. Students attending the Black Mountain campus can also utilize PVCC’s transfer program to pursue a four-year bachelor degree.
