USA: Being Poor in the World's Richest Country (2019)
"1.5 million children are homeless, three times more than during the Great Depression in the 1930s... In the historically poor Appalachian mining region, people rely on food stamps for food. In Los Angeles, the number of homeless people has increased dramatically. As a sign of hope, in the poorest neighborhoods, community organizations offer small wooden huts to those who no longer have a roof."
