Hispanic & Latine Heritage Month Latino Americans Docuseries

Latino Americans Docuseries

Latinos in America is the first major televised documentary series to chronicle the rich and varied history and experiences of Latinos, who have helped shape North American over the last 500-plus years and who have become, with more than 50 million people, the largest minority group in the U.S.

Episode 5, Pride and Prejudice, details the creation of the proud “Chicano” identity as labor leaders organized farm workers in California and as activists pushed for better education opportunities for Latinos, the inclusion of Latino students, and empowerment in the political process.

This event is open to all MCCCD students and employees as well as the local community. Light refreshments will be provided.
