PVCC Library Resources and Tools for Online Learning

As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve and our leadership team works on reshaping student instruction and learning, rest assured, Buxton Library remains committed to supporting your academic success, just in a different way.

To begin with, the library has created libguide on its homepage, which will be regularly updated to reflect new services and/or needs from our community. Check back regularly to the library page, as this is a work in progress and the situation is changing rapidly. Bear with us as we continue to make changes.

Other suggested learning tools and resources at your disposal include:

  • Research Assistance: Call ASK-a-Librarian chat service for research assistance, 602-787-7215, 24 hours a day, seven day a week.
  • Textbooks: Request your instructor make copies of chapters of your textbooks and have them emailed to you within Canvas.
  • Anatomical models/Resources for STEM: All education video content through JoVE is currently free to use in STEM teaching efforts through June 15th.This includes video which animates anatomical models. Faculty and staff is also working to photograph many of the most popular anatomical models for instructors to embed in their Canvas courses. Reach out to your individual instructors to request these.
  • Streaming video services are available to enhance your online course content.

Additionally, the District Office and Colleges have identified resources to support students in transitioning online, such as:

  • Anywhere Computing - learn how to virtually set up meetings with faculty and other students.
