Since we’re all stuck at home anyhow, why not enjoy some throwback movies from across the pond? Without skipping a beat, Paradise Valley Community College has opted to host this year’s International Film Festival online, from the comfort of your own couch. Registrants can register online, and will be sent a Zoom link via email.
"We are very excited to be able to continue with The International Film Festival at PVCC this year despite our limitations due to the pandemic,” said Gary Zaro, PVCC’s Humanities professor and director of the International Film Festival. “After 20-plus years of doing the film festival, we definitely didn't want to break our momentum, but even more importantly, we wanted to continue to serve our loyal followers with the best in international cinema.”
The film festival will feature four British films, four Wednesday evenings this fall beginning at 6:30 p.m. Following each film, Zaro will hold a post-film open discussion. “The challenge this year will be using a virtual streaming platform which is new technology for most of us. The upside is that we can still share great films together and discuss them afterwards, and our joint leap 'across the pond' will allow us to stay connected and experience these great films together."
