Congratulations to Vincent Watkins who was recently appointed Interim Administration of Justice Studies Program Director for the Spring 2021 semester. Mr. Watkins will begin teaching several AJS courses this spring, including Live Online sections of AJS101 and AJS200, as well as asynchronous online sections of AJS123.
“During the current state of social unrest in our country, Mr. Watkins is actively working to bridge the gap between law enforcement and the people of Phoenix. Through his podcasts, his YouTube videos, and his ‘Building Relationships with Law Enforcement and the Community’ training program, he is making the greater Phoenix area a safer place for everyone,” said Dr. Thomas Schmidt, Chair of PVCC’s Behavioral Science Division. “Students won’t want to miss out on the opportunity to take one of Mr. Watkins’ classes.”
Watkins, who joins PVCC with more than 20 years of investigative/loss prevention experience and more than 10 years of higher education instructional experience, said, "A degree has the potential to provide career options and influence your family tree. As such, an education is a privilege, not an entitlement." Watkins holds a bachelor’s degree and master’s in Criminal Justice, and is currently pursuing a second master’s degree in the discipline of Adult Education/Training.
