In August 2020, PVCC lost a beloved colleague and friend. Gina Neskovic (Pictured third from left with her Nursing colleagues) served PVCC as the Nursing Executive Administrative Assistant to the Director of Nursing. Her positive attitude and desire to be of service to students, faculty and staff touched all on campus. “When I think about our commitment to a culture of care, Gina “rises to the top” as she clearly embraced her role in supporting our nursing students,” said Dr. Paul Dale, PVCC President.
Gina will be remembered for her caring heart, her infectious laugh, her kind and caring spirit and always being there for family and friends. Along with being an incredible mother, wife, friend, and mentor, Gina was always selfless and a kind-hearted nurturer. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure to know her.
“I worked closely with Ms. Gina throughout my time in the PVCC nursing program and Student Nurses Association, and I can tell you first-hand how much she truly invested in the future of each and every nursing student,” said Caitlin Henry, PVCC Nursing Alumna and past Student Nurses Association President. “Ms. Gina had the tenacity to take care of business, the spunk to always bring a smile to your face, and a heart big enough to truly care about thousands of nursing students. Because of Ms. Gina, I am a better person and nurse.”
Gina was an active member of her church community at St Jerome Catholic Church where she was involved in many ministries. Gina enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and other crafting endeavors. She loved to entertain friends and family every chance she got with a good meal, fun stories and a hot cup of coffee.
“As Gina’s health declined and she subsequently passed, it seemed only appropriate to set up an endowment in her name,” said Loretta Mondragon, Associate Dean Academic Affairs. “Gina’s family knew how much she loved the nursing students at PVCC, so we are so thankful that we were able to set up the Gina Neskovic Endowed Scholarship in Nursing in her honor.”
If you’d like to honor Gina’s memory, you may make a gift to the Gina Neskovic Endowed Scholarship in Nursing.
