The annual holiday drive and food distribution at Paradise Valley Community College was another big success, serving more than 650 people in over 150 households. The drive-by event, hosted by PVCC’s Student Life group in partnership with St. Mary’s Food Bank, helps those in need in our community given that food insecurity is one of the greatest barriers to success in the classroom.
PVCC Vice President Eric Leshinski had some notable help this year from State Representative Kelli Butler, Chairman of Legislative District 28 Nancy Schriber, and State Senator-elect Christine Marsh. Dozens of gift cards were also collected from the AZ LD28 Democrats community and will be distributed to students in need through the PVCC Counseling department.
The food drive is not the only giving PVCC is doing this holiday season. PVCC sent donated supplies to Navajo Nation this month, including tissues boxes, face masks and nearly 500 bottles of hand sanitizer.
Wishing everyone and happy and healthy holiday season!
