National Accounting Day sounds boring, right? But if you’ve ever considered a degree in accounting and numbers, there is no better time to check out Paradise Valley Community College’s robust accounting program led by Residential Faculty Lynn F. Clark, CPA. With a variety of certificate and degree options, PVCC will prepare you with a skill for life and have you working in the field in no time.
- Enrolled Agent CCL
In just 12 to 18 months, a student can earn their Enrolled Agent Certificate of Completion (CCL) and begin working immediately in tax preparation, one of the most in demand positions in the country. A federally licensed tax preparer is the highest credential awarded by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and PVCC’s EA program prepares students to take the EA examination incorporating the use of current technologies, learning the basic rules of financial accounting, the legal, ethical, and social implications of business decisions, and the appropriate procedures to prepare taxes. Young professionals entering the industry can earn salaries starting in the $50,000 range, and it’s just upwards from there.
- Accounting CCL
The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Accounting is a starting point to an Accounting AAS, or a great addition for students who already have a bachelor's degree in another field, elevating a student’s credentials and skills to the next level. The Accounting CCL can prepare students to become a Certified Bookkeeper (CB), while the CB designation opens up additional employment opportunities and increases earning potential, all of which gives you an edge in one of the most competitive job markets.
- Accounting AAS
Achieving a degree or certificate in Accounting is just the first step in creating a successful career with boundless potential. With a two-year Associate of Applied Science degree in Accounting, you can begin working in high-demand, entry-level positions including bookkeeping, tax preparation, and many clerk positions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, claims, payroll, and credit.
