The Paradise Valley Community College Fitness Center is one of the campus’ best kept secrets. The fitness center, located at the southwest edge of campus, serves a wide population throughout the community, however many Pumas don’t even know this wonderful resource is available.
“While we know the new year tends to be a time people make resolutions to get in shape, change their exercise habits, and reset, this is also a great time to remind our students and community that the PVCC fitness center offers many valuable, unique opportunities other local gyms do not,” said Tatum Voeller, director, PVCC Fitness Center.
The fitness center staff and instructors all hold four-year degrees in exercise science (sometimes their masters as well), and are always available during hours of operation to serve our clients.
Here’s a few more reasons to make the Fitness Center a part of your New Year’s plan:
-
It’s affordable
For just $25 a semester for students, employees, and employee dependents. Seniors (62+) are just $78 per semester and may qualify for insurance-based memberships as well.
-
3 FREE personal training sessions
While the fitness center always has expert instructors on hand to assist you, becoming a member qualifies you for three free personal training sessions to hone in on your goals, answer any questions, and show you your way around the gym.
-
State-of-the-art equipment
The center is fully equipped with free weights, free motion machines, cybex machines, and a variety of cardio equipment, and a specialized area for functional fitness.
-
Instructors know what they’re talking about
In addition to having their bachelors and/or master's degrees in the field of exercise science, PVCC instructors are certified in one or more of the top professional organizations (NASM, ACSM, ASCS or ACE).
