PVCC Hosts 3rd Annual Theatre Day

Paradise Valley Community College's 3rd Annual Theatre Day is set to be bigger and better than ever. On Friday, September 6, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 165 high school students will gather at PVCC's Union Hills campus for a day of learning and networking.

Building on the success of the past two years, which saw more than 100 students attend each year, PVCC is excited to welcome its largest group yet. This year, students can choose from 15 different workshops, covering a wide range of theatre topics.

"Whether students are passionate about acting, interested in stage management, or curious about costume design, there's something for everyone," said Andrea Robertson, Director of Theatre at PVCC. "Each student will have the opportunity to attend four workshops, allowing them to explore various aspects of theatre and discover what they love."

The workshops will be led by PVCC professors, students, and guest artists, all eager to share their knowledge and passion for theatre. With approximately 20 college students assisting in classes and helping manage the day, participants will have plenty of support.

"Theatre day was so much fun when I attended as a high school student. It is one of the reasons I am here,” said James Fields, who is now a Theatre student in PVCC’s theatre department. “I hope I can help others feel the same way.”

In addition to the workshops, students will enjoy a lunch break, during which they can learn more about the PVCC Theatre program and its offerings.
