PVCC Partners with the Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona to Support Nursing Students

Paradise Valley Community College (PVCC) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with The Rotary Vocational Fund of Arizona (TRVFA) and its generous $10,000 in scholarship donations, which will greatly benefit PVCC nursing students.

“TRVFA’s generous donation to our nursing program has helped decrease the financial burden and lowered the barrier to higher education for several of our nursing students. The donations have resulted in the ability of our students to pursue their career aspirations while boosting their confidence and motivation to succeed,” said Jessica Bruhn, Nursing Faculty Chair at PVCC. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with TRVFA and are grateful for their generosity and support of our nursing students.”

Kim Le, a scholarship recipient, expressed her gratitude and stated, “I am deeply honored to be the recipient of the Rotary scholarship fund. This scholarship has helped me cover courses that will help obtain my degree. I am forever grateful for this generous opportunity and hope to become successful enough to pass on the good deed that was given to me.”

TRVFA, managed by Rotary volunteers in Arizona since its inception in the early 1990s, operates as a multi-district project with a noble mission: to provide career and technical education grants to individuals facing financial difficulties. Their ultimate goal is to enable these individuals to achieve financial independence and contribute positively to the Arizona economy.

In addition to their impactful donations, TRVFA qualifies as a charitable organization for Arizona tax credit contributions. To support their mission, visit TRVFA donations. To contribute directly to PVCC, visit PVCC’s giving website.

Join the Maricopa Nursing Community

PVCC is one of the eight nursing programs offered by MaricopaNursing, and is committed to preparing students for the complexities of current nursing clinical practice. PVCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing is one of the most sought after nursing programs in the state, ranking No. 8 on RegisteredNurse.org’s 2024 Top Ten Nursing Schools in Arizona and No. 6 on the Nurse Journal’s 2023 Annual Review of the Best Nursing Schools in Arizona.

  • PVCC offers a concurrent enrollment program (CEP) with its four university partners – Arizona State University, Grand Canyon University, University of Northern Arizona, and Ottawa University giving students the power and flexibility to get a head start on their nursing goals.
  • PVCC’s Nursing program has partnered with Mesa Community College (MCC) to bring back its Paramedic-to-RN Bridge, offering the program as an additional Advanced Placement option for paramedics seeking a career in nursing. Fall classes will be held at PVCC, while spring semester will be held at MCC.

State-of-the-art Health Sciences Center

In 2021, PVCC opened its state-of-the-art, 6,900-square-foot Health Sciences building for its expanded nursing and paramedicine programs. The new space houses four classrooms, a new, larger debriefing room, two additional simulation rooms, and the main skills lab. The main lab is a large open space much like an Emergency Room with eight beds. The new space encompasses multitudes of innovative advances in technology including Virtual Reality (VR) Simulation to give our students the ultimate learning experience in our classrooms and labs.

PVCC Nursing also offers all students the opportunity to be a part of the Student Nurses Association (SNA) which helps students with employment opportunities and connections, development of leadership skills, and volunteering opportunities including serving on medical missions.
