Paradise Valley Community College’s (PVCC) Psi Beta Chapter was recently awarded the Chapter Excellence Award for the 2023-2024 cycle. Chapter advisors Adam Berry and Thomas Schmidt volunteer countless hours overseeing and mentoring Psi Beta members, provisioning invaluable support and guidance.

Psi Beta is the national honor society in psychology for community colleges and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS). Its mission is to foster the professional development of psychology students at community colleges by promoting and recognizing excellence in scholarship, leadership, research, and community service.
Established in 2017, PVCC’s Psi Beta chapter organizes numerous activities that benefit the college, the community, and students beyond Psi Beta. To join Psi Beta, students must meet the following requirements:
- Enrolled at PVCC
- Completed one college psychology course with a grade of B or higher
- Completed 12 units of college coursework with a cumulative grade point average of 3/25 or higher
- Demonstrated interest in psychology
