Musical Tribute Concerts
The Music Department Faculty at Paradise Valley Community College are some of the finest music educators and talented performers in the southwest. Each year the music department faculty and invited special guests display their considerable performance ability in fully produced (sound/lighting/video) rock 'n' roll and jazz performances dedicated to some of the most innovate, influential and beloved musical artists and acts of all time. Some of the past concerts have highlighted artists such as The Beatles, Stevie Wonder, The Who, Duke Ellington, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, The Women of Rock 'n' Roll, The Modern Jazz Quartet, Dave Brubeck and many more!
The Musical Tribute Concerts at PVCC have become a staple of the annual performance season at the college and have also performed at several community venues including Desert Botanical Gardens, Skye, 910 Live, Joe's Grotto, AZ Pride Festival, Jazz in the Hills, Scottsdale Arts Festival and Tempe Center for the Arts.
Students in PVCC's commercial music program provide support with audio, video, lighting, stage set-up, stage management and promotions for all of the tribute concerts as part of the regular coursework, internships and as paid student workers.
