Megan Stiffler Lange & Brad Harper Memorial Scholarship
This endowment was created in honor of former students, Megan Stiffler Lange and Brad Harper to assist students who want to help people just like they did.
The Megan Stiffler Lange and Brad Harper Memorial Scholarship was established to honor former Maricopa Community College students Megan Stiffler Lange and Brad Harper. Megan Stiffler Lange graduated PVCC in 2009. She was a Certified Nursing Assistant, certified EMT and planning to continue her education in Nursing before switching to Psychology. Always wanting to help people, Megan began her career with the Phoenix Fire Department working as a 9-1-1 Dispatch Operator in August of 2009. Megan was humble, kind and caring. In January 2015, Megan was killed by a wrong way driver on I-17 while on her way home from work. This endowment has been set up in her memory to assist others like Megan who want to help people.
Brad was a PVCC Fire Science student in 2009, and was hired by the Phoenix Fire Dept. in 2011. On May 19th, 2013, Brad was killed in the line of duty. Brad was the epitome of a firefighter. Not only was he a workhorse, more importantly, Brad had a heart of gold. He cared about the people around him and made them want to be a better person. Many of us in this program not only had the privilege of either teaching Brad in this class, or went through this class with him, he was also a probationary firefighter for some of our instructors and mentors who work at Station 18. He was not just a firefighter; he was our friend and he was our family.
