Funding available for on-campus student programming related to social/cultural activities.
Social/Cultural Activities Grants are designed to support:
- Innovative projects that are designed to improve, advance, and enrich student learning.
- Increased student inter-cultural competence; increased student understanding of diversity and inclusiveness.
- Programs/projects designed to address PVCC’s Strategic Issue #3:What can PVCC do to address the needs of the increasing numbers of ethnic minority students, other culturally diverse student groups, and a changing body forecasted for the future?
Proposals are for on-campus programming only and can be made on a year round basis, contingent upon the availability of funds. To apply for a grant, simply complete the online application below. You will receive notification via email within one week. Please provide 2-3 weeks advance notice from the date of your proposed event.
What are some examples of funded projects?
- Black History Month Keynote Speaker and Events
- Service Learning: Palomino Mural Project
- History of Italian Opera Concert
- World on a String Acoustic Guitar Performance Series
- Visiting Writer and Scholar Series
- Diversity Infusion Workshops
- Purchases of software and equipment such as computers, digital cameras, DVD players, display cases, etc.
- Routine responsibilities of the faculty, college, or center submitting the proposal
- Stipends for attending faculty development events
- Funding for student participation in the project
- Projects that are covered under Faculty Professional Growth Guidelines, e.g. travel, summer projects, academic advancement
All faculty, both residential and adjunct, administrators, and staff are eligible to apply.
Allocations are $50 to $1,000 per project depending on project goals; types of activities and events proposed; resources required; degree of involvement of faculty, students, and administrators; and potential benefits to students.
