- Verify committee members (for both screening and interviewing)
- Ensure Committee completes the following trainings (one time per year):
- - MCCCD Hiring Training Session (District)
- - Implicit Bias Training (PVCC)
- All Committee members sign the Ethics & Confidentiality Form (Required for each job posting)
- Schedule initial screening session with committee and create virtual meeting link (Google Meet or WebEx)
- Conduct screening to evaluate and score application materials
- Identify the candidates to interview
- Contact applicants
- Send Confirmation emails
- Provide interview materials: final interview schedule, scoring spreadsheet, committee totals matrix
Committee/Chair Actions:
- Ensures all scores and rubrics are populated
- Complete and Submit the Preferred Candidate Form
HR Actions:
- Conduct the Preferred Candidate Call
- Initiate the professional references and background screening activities (VOE, Education)

- Include in the email: anticipated start date and the recommended new hire's full legal name, telephone number, and email address.
Email includes:
- Instructions for initiating background screening process.
- Instructions for submitting MCCCD online employment application, if application has not already been submitted.
- HR creates HCM Employee Job Record, and initiates the Electronic On-Boarding Process and sends onboarding email;
- Arrange In-Person meeting with new hire to complete the I-9 process & collect payroll documents;
- Finalize badge set up
- Notify the Department Manager and Admin Support staff that the hire is complete.
Background Screening: All PVCC part time hires, (adjunct faculty, part time staff, student workers, and volunteers) must complete the new hire process and the background screening process prior to the start date. This includes employees that have worked at PVCC in the past and those who have worked at, or are currently working at another MCCCD college.
