Title IX Sexual Harassment and Discrimination Policy
The policy of the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD) is to provide an educational, employment, and business environment free of sexual violence, unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct or communications constituting Sexual Harassment as prohibited by state and federal law. This policy applies to all students and employees and the entire Title IX policy can be viewed here.
If you have any questions about our Title IX Policies or Procedures and/or have a concern, you may contact our District Title IX Regional Director, Cecilia Quiroz at compliance@domail.maricopa.edu.
Notice or complaints of discrimination, harassment, and/or retaliation in violation of this Policy may be made using any of the following options:
- File a complaint with, or give verbal notice to the Title IX Regional Director. A report may be made at any time (including during non-business hours) by using the telephone number or email address, or by mail to the District Title IX Regional Director. Title IX Regional Directors for each College can be found on the following page: https://district.maricopa.edu/consumer-information/title-ix/title-ix-coordinators.
- Report online, using the reporting form posted at https://district.maricopa.edu/consumer-information/reporting. Anonymous reports are accepted and can give rise to a need to investigate. The MCCCD tries to provide supportive measures to both Respondents and Complainants, which is impossible with an anonymous report when the name of the Complainant is not shared in the report. Since the MCCCD respects a Complainant’s requests to dismiss complaints, anonymous reporting carries no obligation to initiate a formal response unless there is a compelling threat to health and/or safety.
Sexual misconduct can be a complex and painful experience that can require many different types of support including medical, legal, psychological, and other resources. PVCC will offer and implement appropriate and reasonable support measures to the parties upon notice of alleged harassment, discrimination, and/or retaliation. Supportive measures are offered and may include referral to the Employee Assistance Program, referral to counseling, medical and/or other healthcare services, referral to community based resources, increased monitoring on campus, etc. The following link provides other confidential resources that are available to students AND employees.
